OS/2 Version 2 (2.1?) was one of the most solid operating systems ever. We had transaction servers in datacenters that would run for months (one was at least 14 months) without ever being rebooted. The Windows NT servers were rebooted twice a week on schedule just to avoid them crashing in the middle of the day.

I still use it on a regular basis. It was really popular with various voicemail systems and I still have to maintain those systems. There is one where I actually get to boot into the GUI ,not just command line, and that is always a treat. Some of these systems have been powered on 24/7 for over 25 years!

Our old POS system (I work in IT for a retailer) used to run on OS2 Warp, was a nice solid and reliable OS to be fair, our current POS runs on XP E (which has also been very solid), about to replaced by Windows 10 IoT, we are even finally replacing the Server 2003 BOS’s (back office servers) with 2012 R2 ones and SQL 2016, which for us is all very cutting edge stuff!
